Installation (AIO_CDA_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe) aborts without any error message. I downloaded the current installation files from HP. The files extract, I select the Install, it runs the "Checking system" routine, shows the "Please allow all HP processes" dialog, I accept the EULA and it terminates.

I have the same problem. I have a laptop with Win7 prof 64bit and MS Office 2010, where I installed this printer one year ago without problems. After reinstalling the pc, everything works fine except the printer. I downloaded the same driver as adviced in HP website, it installs correctly and I have all HP tools on my desktop, but still the printer is not recognised by the system. I can scan with HP solution centre, but cannot print anything. Does anybody in HP answers to threads in this site? Thank you.

Hello ME67
I would suggest in the future finding a more recent thread or creating a new one. This thread is almost a year old and most people may never see it. As for your current issue do you receive any errors or does it simply not print? Also how is your printer connected to your computer (Network/USB). I would suggest trying the HP Print Diagnostic Utility you can find it at the link below.
When a solution is found please mark the post that solves your issue.

Dear Travis,
thank you for your help. Yes my printer is connected through a USB port to the laptop (no network). I already tried the HP diagnosting utility but it does not work anyway. I can scan with the printer using the HP solution centre, but not with my other programs (ie Picasa). It does not print. If I print from any program, it simply ignore the command, and does not show any print cue for the printer. I hope I can still use this printer, and not be forced to buy a new one. Thank you! Marcello

Dear Travis,
I still cannot print with my HP3180. The printer can just scan, but I need to print.
When I do, the print cue does not detect anything, it shows "0 prints on cue, printer ready".
Printer cannot print any test print either. An error appears like attached (error 0x0000007a).
Please help! Printer is just useless now, and I need to buy a new one (I wonder if it will be an HP....).
Thank you.
Marcello

Hi ME67,
Follow the steps below.
Try using the scrubber built into the CD or Download.
From Original installation CD:
1. Insert CD into drive, and then cancel the installer
2. Open My Computer, and then right click on the CD drive and chose open
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads
9. Download the full feature software and drivers
10. Run the download to reinstall the printer
If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:
1. Type %temp% in the run field
2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools
8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads
9. Download the full feature software and drivers
10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

Hello,
I'd like to say your solutions solves the issue but unfortunately it doesn't.
I followed your hints, but my pc doesn't have any folder starting with 7z, any folder "Util" and any folder " CCC". and when i run the "L4uninstall.exe" it says there is no such file. I can just try to uninstall the previous installed program (which is the same I'm downloading again) and reinstall it again. Unfortunately your different solution I hoped it helped, it doesn't help me. Any other hint? Thank you.
Please I'm looking forward to click Kudo!!

Hi ME67,
Are you able to print from Notepad or Wordpad?
Install the printer on a different computer, and let me know if you have the same issue printing?

Hi pcwizard,
I cannot print with any program, I already tried with Notepad. I can just scan but not print.
The printer works fine with other computers. Actually this printer was working on this laptop too, but I had to reinstall everything and since then it doesn't work anymore. Please help! I am afraid the only solution is to buy another printer. Thank you.

Hi ME67,
If you are able to print from different computers without a problem then the printer is working fine. From what you have indicated is that this is the only computer having the problem. If you have tried New USB cable & ports on the computer then there is something in the operating system causing the issue with print. What you will need to do at this point is backup your data and run a full system restore on the computer. Replacing the printer will not resolve your issue as you indicate it works fine on different computers.
