I had formatted the recovery drive the day i had gotten my probook 4530s, as i thought im never gonna need it. Yesterday i updated my windows 7 and now my probook wont go beyond, 'fatal error c00002a...*something*', as a result, it just gets struck, n no dice trying to restart either. As it was pre installed, i dont have a cd either. I'd deleted the recovery files, n now i cant restore the factory settings. What am i supposed to do?? Someone please suggest something, atleast how to reboot!! Thanks<br>#desperate
Lets try to fix the error
Use F8 at startup to get the windows advanced screen, then use the up down arrow keys to highlight "repair your computer"
.
Once you do that it will load Windows Recovery Environment (RE), there will be a few prompts you need to go through before the tools will load, once you get to this screen, choose command prompt.
when the command window opens type this command and hit the enter key
chkdsk/r C:
(space between r and C: )
it will check and repair the file system, it may take quite some time to complete depending on how large the hard drive is, be patient and Do Not interrupt the process or turn off the PC.
When it completes exit RE and see if it will boot without the 2a error.
