I have not recieved the upgrade from Arvato either and very upset about this. I emailed, faxed, my proof of purchase. I have been sent emails where they say I will get it in 5-7 days and that becomes 20. No one will give me an answer and I called HP and they will not even get on the phone with the company to find out what is going on.

This is False advertising and next I am calling the better bizz beauru. I think everyone who is having this problem should do the same. I purchased this computer thinking I would get this program and it would be easy. HP thinks it is not their problem but it is and it very poor customer service on their part.

I don't even think I will do business with HP again until this is resolved. Everyone should sign a petition.

I ordered the upgrade Sept 6 and they finally confirmed it as validated and accepted on Oct. 20. On Oct. 28th they sent out an email with my address in it requesting that I confirm it as correct or make changes. Well they left off the province and country so I emailed them back the correction. On Oct. 31st they emailed back informing me that they could not correct my address and that I would have to cancel my order and reorder the upgrade kit. Well, since my address is correct on the tracking site I emailed them and refused to cancel my order. I even phoned HP and got the run around and was finally put through to arvato and was assured my address was correct. But they emailed me again saying I would have to cancel my order and reorder the kit. I phoned Microsoft Canada and got the run around from them. Phoning arvato again assured me my address was correct. However, again I get a letter on the 12th of November saying they can't change my address. They say I should check with DHL if it is already shipped out. LOL my order status has not changed nor has my credit card been charged. What a joke! Funny thing is the email headers seem to originate from different places and most don't carry the arvato graphic header. I think they have a lot of foreign employees who are making off with the dvd's and sending them home.

Hi. I have an HDX 18 laptop, ordered the upgrade on October 25 and have been waiting in the indeterminant hell of "accepted" since then. I have no idea when I will ever receive my Windows 7 upgrade.

 

HP needs to address this fiasco NOW! Even a message acknowledging this mess would be an improvement. Doesn't HP monitor this forum?

Arteest- The reason why I ask is Arvato told me they are still waiting for drivers for the upgade disc from HP for my specific computer.

 

Though, I'm not sure if the guy meant my specific HDX 16 laptop, all HDX 16, or the entire HDX line of laptops.

I have been languishing in the "accepted" status for some time now with not much information although I did get a ridiculous email on Friday the 13th.   Part of it went like this:

This is in response to your email regarding the Windows 7 Upgrade Program. We understand that you want to check the status of your order. We are more than happy to assist you.

 

We apologize for the inconvenience. We are unable to track your order using your email address. Please provide us with the following information for us to further assist you:

- complete name

- Email Address

- Shipping Address

- Product Name (i.e. HP Pavilion dv9000 or HP Pavilion 9900 or Compaq Presario S6000Z)

- PC Type Desktop or Laptop

- Serial Number

- Product/Part Number

- Date of Purchase

- Version (Home Premium, Business or Ultimate)

- Architecture  (64-bit or 32-bit)

- Retailer

 

 

Can you believe it?   Anyway, here's my response (I doubt if I hear a thing from them but it felt good to write):

 

This is becoming pretty ridiculous.  If you have my Order ID#222xxxxxxx(look on the subject line of the mail!) why can't you get the rest of the information?  I can easily get it when I go on your website.  Also, I cannot understand why you ask for my email address when you just sent me an email.  This is becoming more and more irritating.

 

If for some reason, you still require the information you have requested below, I will provide it but I am certain any reasonable person would understand my frustration.

What a fiasco! That seems rediculous even for the crappy Arvato service we all have experienced. Mine finally shipped and I have a tracking number. However, I never received the promised email telling me it shipped. For what it's worth, my order date was July 27
