HDX 9494 NR and Windows 7 - upgrade feasible?

I own an HDX 9494 NR 20" laptop that I purchased about a year ago.  I am quite happy with it.  I have an opportunity to upgrade to 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate that I will be given from MS when I attend a developer conference in a few days.  I checked the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor application from MS and it counseled me to contact HP for specifics, which I am now doing.  Can I do this upgrade and what are the ramifications?  Will HP provide updated drives for my keyboard and other drivers specific to this HP machine?  Thanks.

I must admit that I am quite disappointed in the lack of response from anyone, from HP or not, regarding my question.  I am not likely to return here since the board is proving to be of absolutely no use to me as an HP owner.  I sure hope I never run into a real problem with this laptop, because the forum does not inspire confidence that it can be of use if one cannot even get a response about a straightforward OS upgrade question.  This may well be the last HP product I will ever purchase in light of these discoveries.

I have one and did upgrade.  Even though 7 found a lot of things, I lost features that were available in Vista.

     The Quick Launch buttons don't work.  I can't watch Blu-Ray movies.  The HDTV tuner doesn't work.

I had to hunt down the drivers for the fingerprint reader.  7 found the built camera.

I tried to install the latest drivers for Vista from HP thinking that 7 and Vista are close enough.  Nope - did not work.

Using their chat system I was told that At This Time they aren't working on drivers for Windows 7.  That was almost a year ago.

I check back often to see if they have drivers for Windows 7 but they don't.

It is a shame that 1) they stopped producing this laptop and 2) they don't want to support a product after they discontinue it.

This will be my last HP product.  And everyone I know has been told this issue.

hola yo tengo el mismo problema que vos y hp no da respuesta alguna, si esto sigue asi hay que demandarlos por no actulizar los driver competentes  para sus productos vendidos

creo que hay que demandarlos porque no actualizan los drivers para competir con los sistemas operativos mas recientes,creo que la satisfacción de sus clientes es muy mala, porque no dan respuestas
