HP Backup and Recovery Manager for Windows 7

I installed all the softwares and drivers that came along with the HP upgrade DVD. But, I find that the Backup and Recovery Manager missing on the DVD. Is there a Backup and Recovery Manager for Win 7? I liked the backup and recovery manager that was available on my Vista when I bought this laptop but is now unavailable because of the upgrade!! Any solutions for this? I do not want to use the default Windows Backup as I do not have a separate HDD at the moment to store the backup there and do not wish to populate my local hard disk with backup data!! Thanks.

Re: HP Backup and Recovery Manager for Windows 7

Go to http://support.hp.com, find your product, click Drivers, then Windows 7 32 or 64-bit dependant on what you have, and at the very bottom there's a patch for the Recovery Manager that should bring it back.

Hope this helps!

Re: HP Backup and Recovery Manager for Windows 7

I have seen the softwares and drivers page for my Win 7 x64. It does not have any information about a patch or a software available for this version. This is the page I am referring to: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=4063&lc=en&dlc=es&cc=es&lang=es&product=3973234# and I find no data about recovery manager available for Win 7! Thanks...

Re: HP Backup and Recovery Manager for Windows 7

Based on that, then there is no patch (currently) available.

It does say on the instructions to ensure you have Recovery discs before you upgrade. However, if your recovery partition is still in tact, then you can still access it by pressing F11 when you see the HP logo at startup, or you can order recovery discs directly from HP by following the instructions at:

Re: HP Backup and Recovery Manager for Windows 7

Yea, basically. There's no working program for your laptop so it seems that you can use from within Windows 7.

However, if you have problems, recovery discs will work. As well, if your recovery partition still exists, you can still access it by pressing F11 when you see the HP logo at startup.

Re: HP Backup and Recovery Manager for Windows 7

Ok thanks. I have my Vista recovery partition intact. So, I believe, I should be able to recover if I have some sort of problem! I was able to find a backup and recover in Win 7 itself. Perhaps, I should wait for the software to be released by HP. Thanks again!

sadly, HP does not have the Recovery Manager patch for dv2000 running on Windows 7 64-bit. :smileysad:

Hope they have it soon.
