Hello,

Im trying to install HP Cool sense feature on my laptop. I tried to use this package HP CoolSense 2.0 SP52814 but when installing i got error:

"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expeted. Contact your suppoert personnel or package vendor."

Can anybody help me installing it?

ps. I dont want using HP Support Assistant since it in 99% useless for me. Only good thing about it its that CoolSense app. Thats why i want to install standalone version of it.

I have found out that its impossible to have standalone HP cool sense app. and you must have HP support assistant avaliable on your laptop.

I have sucessfully installed HP Support Assistant on my laptop, version 6.1.12.1 and it has HP Cool Sense 1.0.1.42

I tried to update it to newest version 2.10.3 (2.10 C1) but i get error (There is a problem with this WIndows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.). 

Also i have installed newest HP Software Framework 4.5.10.1.

Why i cant update my HP Cool Sense software?

Hi folks,

The two versions of coolsense were not intended to be interchangable,

Coolsense 1.0 was/is included with HP Support Assistant 6.x., and CoolSense 2.0 was developed outside of HP Support Assistant.

Both Coolsense applications require HP Support Framework to function (but coolsense 2.0 does not require HP Support Assistant)

So please try the following:
Install HP Support Framework: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56501-57000/sp56878.exe
Reboot the PC
Install Coolsense 2.0

Please let me know the results

Yeah, confirming that it does not work too :/

I have already software framework from that link installed. Even with it i still get error i mentioned in first post.

I also tried to uninstall software framework and also support assistant and then after rebooting installing fresh software framework and after another reboot Cool Sense 2.0. Also i tried fresh install of Software Framework, Support assistant (with reboots) and then Cool Sense 2.0 still not workng. Always same error about installation package.

Could anyone fix this issue? I tried all of the above solutions and nothing worked. Starting to believe HP CoolSense 2+ is just not compatible with my dv6tqe-6100 CTO laptop. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi,.sorry that was a possible solution from one of the engineers.

It does not look like it is possible to install the newer coolsense 2 as it is designed to function with those models it was shipped on.

Thanks lot for HP support Framework, it really work. Before i want to reinstall hp coolsense on my laptop hp because i have  

install windows 8 and i decided to format the disk. On the new windows there is a folder "SWsetup" in which there are all my program. And then, when i want to install hp coolsense,it didn't install. And i saw your instruction on hp support framework, when i install it on my pc, HP Coolsense install. Thanks again.
