6 month old DV6-6024TX.
Working well at the start. Now these things don't work:
- Coolsense
- CTRL-B - doesn't show any icon nor do anything
- CTRL-ESC
Why?? I have tried everything to fix them.

Hi,
Uninstall IDT audio driver.
Resource:
Uninstalling Software in Windows 7
Uninstall or change a program in Windows 7
Install latest audio driver for your model from here and restart system.
Check is combination CTRL + B working again.
Coolsense requires HP Support Assistant.
Check the link below:
HP Notebook PCs - About CoolSense Technology
Uninstall current HP Support Assistant version from system.
Download and install latest version from here.

Could it by Microsoft's Intellitype software conflicting with it?

Uninstall HP Quick Launch Software from system and restart system.
Resource:
Uninstalling Software in Windows 7
Uninstall or change a program in Windows 7
Download and install this version and restart system.
Check the results.
Note:
In past there was conflict between Microsoft's Intellitype software and HP Quick Launch Buttons (older version of HP Quick Launch Software), but I hope that this not our problem. Please check for now new suggestion.

Sorry I am confused. The latest version you have asked me to install is 2.5 Rev B which is older then the last version you asked me to install 2.6 Rev B.
I have had 2.5 rev B installed before.
Are we just guessing?
So I just installed 2.5 Rev B and still CTRL-B and CTRL-ESC fail to work.

Try to perform Hard reset :
- Unplug the AC adapter from the notebook PC.
- Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices.
- Remove the battery from the notebook battery compartment.
- Press and hold down the power button for about 1 minute to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.
- Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook PC, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
- Press the power button to turn the notebook PC back on.
Check the results.
