HP Drivers for dv6000 series for Windows 7

[ Edited ]

Hello everyone, hello HP.

I figured out, that HP is going to support and release drivers for the dv6000 series for Windows 7. I have a dv6599ew lap which I bought two years ago with the Vista System. After installing Windows 7 everything is working finde except the finger print sensor and the Verisoft Bioscrypt Access Manager software. Are there any alternatives for this software? Or when can we expect the drivers for this series. I mean in a year, month or a week? There is no return to Vista for me - my lap is now working more stable and faster than with that how to say it not best idea of Microsoft. But the fingerprint sensor is something I really need and would like to use.I tried to install the old Vista drivers - when I am logging on to W7 it seams, the software is working - there's a message about logging on via "Finger Print" but when I enter my account - there is no possibility to use it.

As I said, the other features are working or I "brought them to work" (new NVIDIA drivers etc) and my two years old HP is much faster with W7 now, than it was when I bought it with Vista... Strange.

Okay, Thank you for all replies or help.

Greetz from Germany.

@christophoros

Did you try the software mentioned in Daniel's thread?

1) Uninstall *all* previous fingerprint reader drivers

2) Download Authentec drivers from here

3) Download DigitalPersona ver 4.0.1.3749A here (for 32bit Win7) or here (for 64 bit Win7)

4) Update DigitalPersona to ver 4.11 using the autoupdate feature of the software

5) Reboot & Enjoy

Informations about fingerprint were written by Rolando Ramirez on MS TechNet forum here.

Re: HP Drivers for dv6000 series for Windows 7

I am now showing a driver issue for an Unknown Device: ACPI\HPQ0006 From other related threads, this looks like Quick Launch Buttons. Which driver can I download to clear this in Windows 7?

Re: HP Drivers for dv6000 series for Windows 7

let me see if i can assist you. concerning that drivers problem your having.

all you got to do is go on the HP website click on support & drivers, type in your laptop name. You will see a picture of your laptop including which operating system to chose from and since you said you had Windows Vista on it once, just download the drivers for Windows Vista install the drivers then after there finished installed make sure you restart your laptop and go into the Device Manager to update each driver one at a time!

let me know if it works out
