HP G72 won't start up

Hp G72 Notebook, windows 7 64-bit. My notebook was running fine. I did not update or install anything. I press power button, it starts up to HP screen, fan runs, no blinking led lights, no beeps, and no error messages. Then about 5 seconds after start up it immediatly shuts off. Acts like battery is dead. I have it plugged in also. I have taken battery out and held power button for 15 seconds and plugged it in and started it again without battery, same thing happens. Computer is out of warrenty by a couple months. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the fast reply. I have tried system diagnostic, power on (HP start screen appears, no error message) and press esc, but it just shuts off (it loses power. It's not freezing up). I have gone threw trouble shooting. I have done hard reset. I have also removed hard drive. Still same symptoms. Do you have any other ideas?

Please try to remove the Memory stick from the back panel and check if this works fine if not then this could be the issue with the MotherBoard on the unit.

Ok, I have removed memory sticks and tried to start it up. Still no luck, same symptoms. How can I tell if there is a problem with the motherboard?
