Hi,
First of all, if you haven't created your set of Recovery Discs for the current OS, I would do so first - you may want to sell the machine in the future and be able to reload the original Spanish OS - see the following document regarding this Here.
The next guide on the link below will show how to perform a clean install of windows using your Retail Ultimate disc - Note: I would follow the 'tip' suggestion in Step 8 to remove all the existing partitions until you are left with just one 'Unallocated Space'. ( If you ever use your Recovery Discs to reinstall the original OS, all the partitions will be re-created anyway ).
Windows 7 - Clean Installation.
Any specific drivers you mat require for you notebook can be found starting Here.

Before doing this clean install, you should download and save all of your device drivers to a USB flash drive, DVD, another HDD, or some other media to have them handy to make setting Windows 7 up easier when finished installing Windows 7. For example, having the network driver available in case you cannot connect to the internet until it's installed.

Hi,
I wouldn't worry about that part of the 'tip' too much - the new installation of Windows will almost certainly install generic drivers for your network adapters etc automatically.
You can also download ( either before or after the installation ) any specific drivers you require for your notebook Here.
All you need to enter is either your full Model No. or Product No. - see Here for a further explanation.
Then select Software and Driver Downloads, select your OS and you'll get a list of all the downloads available for your notebook.
After you have installed Windows 7 Ultimate and installed any other drivers, go into Device Manager and check if you have any 'Unknown Devices' listed here. If you do, right click on the problem device and select Properties. Click the Details tab, choose Hardware Ids from the dropdown box and post back with the details shown under Value.

Hi,
You're welcome ![]()
Just so that I'm certain, is your Windows 7 Ultimate a retail copy? If it is, there should be no problem with the activation.
As I mentioned before, I would definitely create the set of back-up discs for the Spanish OS - you can never be too safe ![]()

Hi,
I can't see any real problems in doing this and the new OS should activate fine over the internet, but just let me know if you need any advice.
Best regards,
