Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, I'm in a hurry.
My laptop wont turn on, whenever I press the power button all the lights light up for about a second, I here the fans turn on and then it shuts off.
When I plug the charger in the the charger light blinks, but thats it.
Any help is much apprecaited!
Thanks.

dv9715nr was plugged in, on and working at home. Went to get coffee, came back unit ws off. Tried to turn on, but when pushing the on button, the blue lights came on for 1 second, then all off. No beeps, did not hear an in 1 second, no screen flash, no errors. Battery is 2 years old.
That is all it can do now. I did go thru the suggestions listed but no change.
I have had the unit since new.
Have disconnected HD, removed DVD, battery, memory, connected external video monitor, no change.
When connected to power the blue charge light comes on then when pressing 'on' other leds come on then ALL go off. A second later the charge led comes back on.
Thanks for any offered help,
frank

Hello and good day HP support,
I have a dv7 17" i7 laptop that I purchased in around March or April. The laptop was working fine last night but today morning it will not turn on. I ran the process of unplugging power supply and removed the battery and held the power button, then placed the battery in and plugged the power supply and it worked.
My question is not how to run this again, but I want to know why this happened so I can prevent this incident from happening again?? I don't want to do this every other day or so.
Your response to the solution will be greatly appreciated.
thank you,
Darshan

Hello c4m3r0n2994,
You had to do a hard reset on the notebook and you want to know why.
The hard reset drains the stored energy out of the notebook, resetting all the hardware.
If the computer went to sleep and would not wake up and you have to do the hard reset, there might be a setting that is wrong in BIOS.
I'd go to HP.com and update the BIOS.
Here is a link to the update. You'll need your product number.
Clicking the White Kudos star on the left is a way to say Thanks!
Let me know how everything goes.
Have a good day.
