HP Pavilion laptop DVD bios update failed Black screen

i have HP Pavilion g6 1131sx laptop, i was doing updating the BIOS the computer freezes , when i restart the computer, now on boot blank screen and caps lignt blink and nothing happened. please i want help. its my new laptop just use for 3 months. i am very sad. i am new to bios.

Turned on laptop and an HP screen opened and said

"HP Bios update in progress....do not stop....computer will reboot after update is complete"

BS...........I turn on computer, it starts to boot and shuts down in about 3 seconds. I never asked for this update and HP won't help because I am 7 months beyond warranty. I should have known better....this happened to me befoe and resuklted ibn a motherboard failure.

This is the same thing.

I called HP and after a few minutes with a person from across the sea, I asked for and got a oerson in the USA.

After 30 minutes, I agreed to send my complaint }upstairs"!

Monday I will once again "fight" with HP..

Dell is my next computer UNLESS HP does the right thing and repairs this at "no charge"

I wz jst updating all the drivers, when i did the bios it crashed so i turned it off, and now when i turn on i jst gt blank screen but all the lights and everything is on.

The bottom line...............BIOS update blew my motherboard......this happened 2 times on 2 HP laptops. HP will not give you the time of day. Move on.....buy anything but an HP in the future........try DELL.........Good luck

I dnt think mine blew coz i turned it off straight away thinking it has crashed :I
I only gt this laptop 6 months ago, but its out of waranty
I want to know if this guy has a fix coz he dosent seem to reply?
Thtl be my last option coz i dnt want to pay another 400£

glad to hear you can fix it because i also have an hp pavilion dv7-3190eg with the same symptoms. after i updated my bios to the new version, the notebook shut down. i turn it on again and then that's it all lights on but a deep balck screen. the fan is running normally. the hdd light indicator blink sometimes red somtimes white. the bluray drive runs permantly as if there was a cd/dvd inside but there is nothing inside. seem to me that the notebook is not dead, it's just need to be flash again in a proper way with th right files. unfortunatly i've already tried all kinds of files but no success. still in college and need the notebook desperatly. wait for response

This morning I turned on my dv7.  It would not start due to a BIOS error.  I needed to use my WIN7 DVDs to restart at the most recent restore point.  The dv7 then successfully booted.

After my computer was functional.  I used the HP Assistant to chat with a technician.  He recommended shutting the computer down.  Then:

• Plug it into AC power
• When you power up (hit power key), also press Windows key + B.  This will initiate the HP BIOS update.
• Let it update without interuption

Since then I was able to reboot a couple of times successfully.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-7012nr and I update the BIOS using HP Support Assistant, the process was complited without problems, the laptop rebooted and do not start anymore, the LEDs and the Fan start, but de screen remains black. I already  try the  BIOS recovery procedure, pressed the WinKey+B combination on the keyboard,turned the notebook on while keeping those keys and the power button pressed, but nothig happens, I also try to use a  USB flash drive with HP_TOOLS in it, but also nothing. Can you help me!?
