HP Quick launch software not working on G62-450SL

Hi!

I have installed the above mentioned software, but it does not show up in the icon tray and I cannot open it in any way. The buttons are working (I can change volume, brightness, etc.) but the program does not show up anywhere nor can I open it to program the HP buttons differently. I have uninstalled/reinstalled it, did not help. I have a Logitech mouse and I thought it could be interfering with this, so I uninstalled the Logitech software, but that did not help either.

By the way, I have Windows 7 installed.

Please try looking for HP Quick Launch buttons icon in Control Panel.

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately that does not work either... it does not appear on Control Panel.

However it appears in the Remove Programs list (both HP Quick Launch and HP Software Framework).

Please uninstall the Quick Launch software, restart the system and then download and install the latest Quick Launch software from the following weblink:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp51501-52000/sp51650.exe

I have tried it, but still no luck, the icon still does not appear and I cannot launch it either.

(Btw, I am using 64-bit Windows, though I do not think it matters).

I have the same problem as the OP, tried all the things suggested, still won't work!

AFAIK, for consumer notebooks such as g62 or cq62, HP QLB only works as a hidden application. Try pressing fn + ESC, it will launch hp info to test it.

None of its feature can be configured by "normal" users. However, it will be a different case, it that software was installed on hp bussiness models.

BTW, which setting are you trying to configure?

all i wanted to do was change what the buttons do. e.g. when I press F1 it actually is F1, not Windows help/Support.

It's extremely annoying with games having to press Fn+F1, or accidently bumping F1 or mail or internet buttons etc, which minimizes my games.

I thought HP Quick Launch could change them... if not is there any way I can with other software/settings?
