I don't think there is a way to do it from the wim file, or a least an easy way. HP uses multiple win files chained together during install, it is a very complicated process which as far as I know be done manually.

Best bet is to download a copy of you OS from this page and use the product key from the sticker to activate W7 after it is installed. Burn the ISO to DVD as an Image, you may need a blank dual layer DVD disc if the ISO file is larger than 4.7gb.

.

Download the same version you have Home, Pro etc, also be sure it is same bit version 32bit or 64bit, and the correct language

Once W7 is installed install HP Support Assistant and run "Maintenance" > "Refresh" after you launch HPSA, to get all the HP drivers installed.

If you need to download drivers manually see this page

Re: HP RECOVERY PARTITION HELP REUIRED

If your laptop is still under warranty you can ask for free recovery dvd (win 7 & drivers) from HP customer support. If you don’t get appropriate help you can also write to CEO HP (simply asking for the dvd).

I got my recovery dvd after the third email to CEO, because the customer support never sent me dvd.
