Have you tried this driver: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45182
Info about it here: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45182
Also, Digital Persona Fingerprint Reader Software:
32 bit - ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp43501-44000/sp43882
64 bit - ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp43501-44000/sp43883

Greetings!
I have a Dv6646us with the AMD Turion 64 x2 Mobile TL-58 1.9GHZ; 4GB DRAM machine and recently installed Win 7 32-bit Home Premium. I am contemplating installing the 64 bit version, since the drivers for the 32 & 64 bit Vista OS are the same.
My question is has anyone successfully upgraded their original 32 bit OS to a 64 bit OS, since the HW is 64 bit?
Thanks
Edit: This was reposted in the main OS and SW thread and had favorable repsonses if anyone is interested in going forward with the same initiative.

I have just bought a dv7 1211tx and am having _LOTS_ of trouble trying to get the Windows 7 upgrade.
Being in Australia, I have to deal with the distributor in Singapore.
My issue is I do not have a credit card, and the distributor's website will only proceed if I pay via Visa or MasterCard which I cannot do (obviously).
I have tried sending the distributor an email via their web site. I got an automated response indicating I would get a real response in 1-3 working days. That was on Monday. Nothing since.
I have tried phoning the them, but there is always a message indicating all their operators are busy and please would I call again during office hours (despite my calling during Singapore office hours!).
UPDATE - I finally spoke with the distributors - they only do the fullfillment - it is actually HP collecting the payments and thus mandating the need for the credit card. If only I could speak with someone @ HP about this...
I have tried phoning HP support in Australia, following the prompts for HP Pavilion notebooks, only to be given a recorded message indicating they are having difficulties and whould I use the website.
I have tried raising this via the website, but have had no response.
This is my first HP product and thus my first encounter with HP support. Is it always this difficult to get help?
The big question I have is If I do not have a credit card, how do I get the Windows 7 upgrade?

Will my HP Mini 110-1013TU work if I install Windows 7 on it? I really like to upgrade my Windows XP OS to a more up-to-date OS.
Here are the specs of my laptop:
Processor: Intel® Atom™ Processor N280 (1.66 GHz)
Hard drive: 160GB
RAM: 2GB
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with shared graphics

Hi,
I successfully upgraded my DV5-1235DX to Windows 7 Professional using the custom option. There were no glitches and the whole process ran smoothly. Almost all the upgraded drivers auto updated through Windows Update. I did notice, though, that there is still a device listed in Windows device manager under "Other Devices" that is "Unknown Device". I can find no driver for this device and, if I uninstall it, upon rebooting, it reappears. The description in device manager says:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
Under the driver detail, it says:
Hardware IDs
ACPI\HPQ0004
*HPQ0004
Everything else seem to be OK. The only other issue I've found is that the HP Webcam does not show up in "Devices and Printers" but it is accessable and usable thru the HP Mediasmart Webcam application.
Any help is appreciated.
Carl
