Dear all,
I just installed Windows 7 RC onto my HP HDX 16t last night. It works woderfully, except it wasn't recognizing any of the hp drivers for my computed except for the HP Media Smart Help document. So, I re-downloaded all of the hp drivers. I can see that the HP programs under c:/Program Files and c:/Program Files x86 folders, but Windows 7 still isn't recognizing the hp drivers for hp media smart, hp advisor, etc. Can anyone please help?

DHootsJ, I'm somewhat surprised the Bluetooth didn't auto-install on its own. Check the HP support site for your model to see what the manufacturers of the chipset for those devices are. The ACPI one should be part of (likely) the Intel chipset drivers. Bluetooth is usually through Broadcom chips, but not always. Try going to the different manufacturer sites to get updated drivers for Windows 7. If all else fails, just download the Vista drivers for your model from HP and use those. Most times, you can use Vista drivers in a pinch under Windows 7 and get things to work. I had to do it with my Wi-Fi adapter.

I downloaded the RC last month. ON one 3 yr old laptop it has run great. On the HP laptop I bought one month ago, it has had CONSTANT problems. I've installed it 5 times, from 2 different disks, all downloaded from MS. When it ran, it was great. But I had daily problems; updates failed, or hung, 3rd party apps, approved for Windows 7 would not install, IE8 would crash, sfc would find files it could not repair, it would not ever shutdown cleanly, etc. The final straw cames this week, when it would not boot, and Windows Startup Repair could not repair it. I formated over it.
The whole thing was like VISTA part 2. I tested Win XP as a Beta tester; IT was more stable. As a long time Ubuntu User, I am used to all most daily upadtes to address issues. The ONLY REAL updates I ever saw was MS updates to Defender. NO driver updates, no OS updates to fix the problems I encountered.
Now they want me to buy the OS, AND wait for them to fix it with SP1 for it, just like they had to for vista.
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! They need to release a FULLY functioning Trial for people to test on their systems FIRST before they buy. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. It's toointelligent a thing to do.
Wait for Windows 7 SP1 before buying. Run Vista if you have to use a MS product, or Ubuntu if you want something that just works.

I placed an order of HP Pavilion Elite e9150t on June 24. Am I eligible for getting a free upgrade to Windows 7?
