HP dv4, Win 7 and Power2Go

I bought a new HP dv4 about a couple of months back. However, I installed Windows 7 Professional on my laptop recently. I had Power2Go installed om my computer when I had bought it. But, on installing Win 7, I lost the software owing to a format. Would I get Power2Go for Win 7 for my HP laptop again? Thanks for the help!

I have the same problem:

Notebook DV2-1110ez with Vista HomePremium and Power2Go (or was it part of Cyberlink DVD Suite?). I've done a clean install to Win 7 HomePremium (with the HP Win 7 Upgrade DVD) and so I've lost the power2Go-Software. Is there a way to (download and) reinstall it?

thanks

You can use Recovery Manager to use the Application reinstall opinion.

Is that possible? I have my Vista Recovery Discs created! But am not sure if that would reinstall my Power2Go app on Win 7!? Would give that a try and get back. Thanks for that reply~!

Did you upgrade or clean install? I upgrade to Win 7. I have not try booting from the Recovery CD to find out if that opinion is there, but that opinion is there in Windows.

Re: HP dv4, Win 7 and Power2Go

I did the clean install too and faced same problem. After trying few forums with no help I tried something. May be this is not the preferred way but your system should have come with C:\SwSetup\CyberDVD folder. In there u can find the setup for dvd suite or whatever came with ur pc. It did not even ask me for a key.

Re: HP dv4, Win 7 and Power2Go

This method seems to be work.

Tried to update my version of Power2Go.  The update program suggested I uninstall the program first.  When that was done, there was an error which showed up on the screen, telling me it was unable to install.  I was left with an empty directory.  Not cool!

The program should have an auto update application which would make this problem almost unexistant.
