Can anyone please help me? I've had this laptop for 3 days & have yet to get the quickweb browser to work yet!! I have gone through the wifi setup 4 or 5 times now & I am connected, but it will not load any pages. I have tried the default page, facebook, aol, twitter, hp.com & google. All I get is an error message that says address not found. HP quickweb can
t find server at g.msn.com (google.com). What can I do to get this to work? I was really excited about having this option, since it will do almost everything I do on a daily basis. Please help if you can!! I am running Norton Security Suite & that aol & napster are pretty much all I have loaded.

I have the same problem on the Probook 4530s received this week. The error message I get is "Server not found" for most of the web pages I try to reach.
I know the connection is working because the home page updates with the correct time, local temperature, etc. And I did find that the web browser would connect to my local ISP's web page, which is Qwest. Many of the links off that web page work although some do not. The email portion of the software also does not connect to my provider which is msn.
It's as though the software cannot find the DNS server to get to any pages besides Qwest. Note that the same thing happens at home and work and on a wireless or wired connection, doesn't make a differance. I do use the same ISP and similar routers at both locations.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I have this same problem with my dm1z-3200 and the latest quickweb software. The DNS IP address is correct, and the widgets update just fine, but the web browser can't load any web pages unless I give the IP address explicitly.

I have the same problem with my new dm1z, and I found that it worked on my neighbor's ISP, which is AT&T while it won't work on my ISP which is sonic.net, a regional ISP. I called HP and they had me deinstall and reinstall both Quickweb and Windows7, but with the same results. They ask that I contact my ISP, but since all of my other computers work fine, I can't believe it is a problem with my ISP but it must be a software problem with Quickweb. I don't believe they will fix it, or perhaps even log it as a bug.

I called my ISP and they said it was probably a DNS problem ( I knew that ) but had no suggestions to help. I found that Quick Web does not allow you to specify the DNS server on wireless but it does on wired connection, so I plugged in the laptop and changed the default DNS to the DNS address provided by my ISP, which worked fine. I want wireless, of course, so I assume there is some sort of incompatibility with either my ISP or my wireless router (Belden). If I have the energy, I may try another router.
I updated to the latest Quick Web, V3.0.1.9387, but it didn't fix this problem.

I bought a Pavillian dm-3 last month. Since it came out of the box - I connected to Quick-Web once. When I turned off the computer the next time I turned it on - Quick web never worked (showed lan and wifi disconnected (although it worked just fine with Windows). I spent four to five hours with HP reps - and finally sent the computer back to them -- they returned it two days ago -- AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!! If I reconfigure the system -- Quick-Web will work - ONCE ITURN THE COMPUTER OFF AND BACK ON - IT WON'T CONNECT!! (Although Windows picks up the lan/wifi ok - Quick Web shows it as disconnected.
Sorry I'mno help to you --- Just want to share the frustration with HP!!
