I wanted to install win xp pro but I couldn't and every time I try to I get "setup cannot find any hard disk drives"

I heard that the problem is from the sata drivers but i cannot find mine.

Re: HP pavilion dv6235nr

Hi,

i also tried to do the same, XP setup dose not contain SATA drivers and HP dose not allows us to disable the SATA mode of the HDD,

So what you need to do is google on "adding SATA drivers to XP installation" you may find some links telling you need to download SATA drivers for ur system, get apackge editing software called nLite, go through the steps and create ur own XP package with SATA drivers in it.

bye

Re: HP pavilion dv6235nr

Hi,

First make Vista backup. How to do it all informations here.

Now You need to slipstream Your Sata drivers (ICH7M) with nLite.

Here is guide how to do it and here are Sata drivers for You. Just unrar this drivers with winrar.

Be sure also that You are using WinXP SP2 version. If you haven't got SP2 version here you can download this service pack

and here You have got guide how to slipstream this file with Your system again by nLite.

In this program You can even burn Your new XP cd with this driver.

Re: HP pavilion dv6235nr

How to install QuickPlay in Win XP:

First:

You need to make a registry hack to install it:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\QPFlag]
"QPFlag"=dword:00000003
"@"=""

If you dont know how to do it, just download,QuickPlay.zip, extract it with WinRar or WinZip, double click on it to run it.

Second:

QPW (QuickPlay) version 2.3 for XP here

Update to the final version of QPW for XP here

Skin update here

Re: HP pavilion dv6235nr

The dv6235nr should have the setting in BIOS to disable Native SATA .Enter Bios setup by tapping F10 key at startup. If you have the option in Bios setup to disable Native sata mode,XP will install with no problem,no sata driver needed. It will be on System Configuration tab.

If you don't have the setting in Bios, or don't care to change BIOS setting use the SATA driver posted above.
HP actually has all XP drivers posted for this model on DV6000T CTO page HERE
