Help needed. I upgraded to Win7 from Vista Home Premium and now Windows Explorer freezes

The only issue I recall during the upgrade was an issue about a "keyboard filter" but all keyboards seem to be working fine. Any advice? Also, if I need to provide anymore info please let me know. I have a G60-440US.

This was an upgrade that HP provided when I bought this notebook - does HP provide support besides these forums? If so, does anyone know the contact info?

Windows Explorer - do you mean the Windows File Explorer or Internet Explorer?

Windows File Explorer......seems to freeze when I right-click on my desktop

Also, when I go to shut-down and/or re-start it just hangs on the "shutting down" screen

if you "WindowsKey+E" or Start->Computer", does File Explorer work? Right Mouse on desktop normally gets you the menu to personalize, etc. hangs at shutdown means some service or program wouldn't quit, blicking the shutwodn. Check yourTask Manager.

Thanks but I'm not sure what you mean. I know what right-clicking on the desktop is supposed to do, I am saying that when I right-click there or on a file on the desktop, it causes Windows Explorer to freeze and then asks me to re-start it of close it. Or, Windows Explorer will freeze on its own. Do you have any advice on how to fix it?

Do you know where to find the update for the same driver (keyboard filter) but for a DV7-1170us laptop?

I went here ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45058.exe and when I went to install I was told it was already installed. I think this is because I did install the HP Quick Launch .exe a couple of weeks ago.

Nevertheless the problems are still here....Windows File Explorer freezes and my PC won't shut down so any feedback is welcomed

Also, I forgot to mention that my QL icons (volume, network, battery)  do not appear all of the time
