I do not have any discs and HP has said they no longer provide restore discs. I tried restoring to a point but it's not enough. There is something wrong and I want a fresh system start to solve the problem. I'm not worried about any of my files. I will keep searching but if someone know what to do please let me know.

Re: How do I RESTORE my system to the original factory settings

I can't remember if my laptop included recovery cd's although I believe it did, nevertheless I seem to have misplaced them and therefore need toresort to some other way of restoring my whole system to the original factory settings, unless there is some way I can get replacement recovery cd's by presenting my warranty (which is still valid).

If there is another way you can help me here's my data:

-Full model nuber: dv6-2160ep

Regards

[ Edited ]

Start tapping the F11 key immediately after powering on. This will boot into HP Recovery Manager. Make the choice to do a System Recovery or Factory reset. If you are offered a 'System Restore' say No and move on to 'System Recovery' which is a full reinstall.

You can also burn a Recovery Disk set>>Document HERE
