Hello,
I've recently purchased a used Pavilion DV7-6150eo, and it came with a clean install of Windows 7. For the sake of getting the proper drivers and system tools I would like to install the HP-image of Windows, if possible. Where could I locate this on the computer, if at all possible? Or would I need to have an HP recovery kit physically sent to me?
If not this, then what drivers should I make sure to get from HP.com's 'Support and Drivers' section?
Thanks,
Sebons.

Hi,
Check if the Recovery Partition is still present as follows.
Hold down the Windows Key and press R. Into the Run Box type compmgmt.msc and hit enter. Click Disk Management in the left pane and when the partitions have loaded, do you see an entry for Recovery Partition D?

Thank you for the quick reply.
I followed your instructions, but sadly no recovery partition was present. It looks like the previous owner formatted the drives entirely.
Would it be possible to create an HP-recovery DVD from a seperate HP Pavilion laptop (My brother owns one as well) and use this, or would that be tied to that product number.
If it's not too much to ask, or too extensive for you to look into, could you advice me wich drivers I should pull down from HP's website? This is the laptop in question: HP Pavilion dv7-6150eo.
Thank you for your help,
Sebons

Hi,
HP installation discs are validated by reading a 'tattoo' on the bios, so media from another notebook will not install.
The easiest option would be to order a replacement set of Recovery Discs using the link below - the cost does vary depending where in the world you live, but they're generally inexpensive..
If you have any problem with this link, order them directly from HP.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
If you wish to just keep the current installation, you really need to check in Device Manager to see if anything is missing or has an error icon as you may find that all the necessary drivers are already installed.

I'll purchase a recovery kit from HP. Seems to be the most viable option.
Thank you for your time. Much appreciated.
