I was recently asked to install XP on a friend's G70-250, and the first thing I notice is that there are no HP supplied drivers available. Has anyone done this before? Where can I find all the required drivers?

Another popular request, I just wonder why HP still not publishing their XP drivers!
@thatmandan, try the following steps and drivers
Make your Vista Recovery cd/dvd if you haven't yet, found out here
Your model needs ICH9 sata driver to be sliptreamed in XP CD installer. If you did it right, you'll pass BSOD error.
Use Nlite to sliptream ICH9 sata driver.
A good guide to sliptream sata driver, here
Note: do NOT use sata driver from that guide, your sata driver is ICH9 given below.
ICH9 sata driver,
The driver is located in iaAHCI.inf and is called ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller, here
Nlite download, here
Some suggestions to avoid problems while installing XP:
1. Try NOT slipstream all of sata drivers, use only ICH9 --> ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller
2. Use XP-SP2, a lot more easy to use since many of XP drivers were built based on XP-SP2.
3. Burn XP installer slowly and not using the maximum speed, sometimes it create errors
4. Choose a reputable CD media, not the cheap one.

Thanks for putting all the drivers together.
I have tried to downgrade to XP using the dirvers listed above and faced the same issue as 'bs87'. The system does not recogize the modem.
Also, when I hookup the HDMI port to the TV, the audio does not play on TV. It plays only on the notebook. Not sure if it is due to the failure of installation of Fax Modem Driver.
For those of you who have got it working does the HDMI work fine ?
Thanks in Advance

@Vistasux,
Please bare in mind that XP is not supported by HP anymore. Some of XP downgraders need to "force install" the possible working drivers.
For modem driver, have you try to foce install it?
Microsoft also offers newer conexant fax modem drivers, please try it, it works for many XP downgraders.
Did you install MS-UAA before Intel GMA driver? HDMI driver is bundled in Intel GMA. Check in device manager, if you did it right, you'll find two audio drivers, Conexant and Intel audio drivers.
I have not tested HDMI features yet, however have you enable digital out audio setting?

Thank You Rakhmad.
I got the modem working with the driver included as part of Vista distribution on the notebook. The driver is found under c:\SWSetup\Drivers\Modem.
HDMI still remains an issue. I followed the sequence suggested by you when installing.I see two audio devices.
1. Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221
2. Intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI Service
The whole installation has been a breeze so far. Wish HDMI works like the way it was working on Vista..
Let me know if you have any other thoughts.
Thanks Again Man.
