Ack!  I am still trying to translate both of you!  I've answered posts in Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and others I cannot think of now, and cobbled English.. I relish the chance to learn to translate Swedish!    Oh, and Gaelic.  Thank Goodness for Google!

Oh I'm impressed! I can do Portuguese fluently and get by with Spanish. Would love to learn Gaelic though so I can translate the old texts I need for genealogy research! BTW I do my research on the internet so my computer running smoothly is imperative.

I'm just good at English, though the U.S. Coast Guard sent me to language school to learn Japanese.

My Japanese is somewhat rusty.

Can't do Finnish though.

My father and grandmother tried to teach me, but gave up saying I was hopeless.

NO, No!  I do not speak any of these!  I translate all of them using Google!  Ha, Ha!  I only speak English.  I did take classes in Spanish and French, much to the dismay of my teachers.  Smiling.  I suspect my efforts at answering in foreign languages have lacked the necessary finesse: I have yet to receive a reply, though I think my answers were sufficient.  Perhaps there was something missing in the translation.  Smiling.   Ah, well.

The Gaelic is a new passion - I love the music and the song.  I do a bit of writing and I am trying to learn to translate some of it into the old language.  It is impossible.  Smiling.  My own roots are in more Irish than of the Gaelic, and solid in the English and in the dirt of Europe's north forests.
