Hp Laptop volume touch control locked

The little scroll bar for the volume/mute button and the internet switch is all locked. I have tried everything but it has been locked for a couple of days now. I'm not sure if I pressed a lock button or something but the laptop is only 3 weeks old. The model is dv6-1245dx, it is in the Java design (black laptop with silver circles). Really is a wonderful computer, entertainment wise and very fast.

Try to do a system restore to a restore point where the volumn worked.  Let us know how that goes.

i did a system restore on my cpu to and it didnt work....did anyone figure out if there is anything else i can do to unfreeze it?  is it possible to lock it if you hold a particular button down to long?

my volume control plus wifi control are locked how do i unlock them my lap top is dv6 1340ss.

My wife experienced a similar issue on her DV7 laptop (can't remember exact model # off top of my head). My recommendation is to download the latest software updates for your laptop and see if that fixes it. It ended up solving the problem for us.
