I have upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium Edition from Windows Vista Home Premium edition on HP Pavilion dv6767tx Thrive Special Edition notebook. The upgrade took quite a time around 6 hours, but it can be dependent upon how much data is there on the laptop and my hard disk is well packed. It was a smooth process. I was at first hesitant to go for upgrade rather than clean install, but what the heck, i wud try it. And I was happy to see all my programs and settings there as they were there in Windows Vista, no change. even the drivers were working nicely sparing a few. The Compatibility advisor before the Windows 7 upgrade advised to uninstall iTunes and install it again after the upgrade, which i did. Also i encountered some minor issue with my mic, while taking on Skype or gTalk, the other person could hear disturbance. I checked the mic settings from control panel, and disabled all enhancements for the mic and everything was working fine.
Windows 7 is working smoothly on the laptop and it feels a lot faster than before(Windows Vista).

Hey Riteshkm
I tried to upgrade my dv6767TX however after selecting upgrade as the method of installation it does a compatibility check. When the check is over it tells me to upgrade my Keyboard filters driver. It says the following devices may not function propperly after the upgrade device keboard filters. Did you face such a problem and if so then how did you solve it
Thanks

Hi
I did not get any issue whatsoever with the Keyboard filters drivers. My keyborad is working perfectly fine after upgrading it to Win 7. Even the Quick Launch buttons were working fine. Win 7 consist of variety of drivers for a lot of devices, and for most of it installs the driver itself.
If you are upgrading I suggest you to keep a backup of the basic drivers.
I guess u will not face any issues....
Cya

Hey riteshkm
How did you upgrade. Did you do a custom install ( fresh instal. i.e format HDD and then install) or used the upgrade feature on the disc ( Hence your files, programs all were installed.)

Hi Khirad,
I used the upgrade feature, and all my programs and settings were intact.
