Installing a new copy of windows. HP 6530B

Hi

I am trying to install a new copy of windows on HP 6530B. Generally, for installing a new copy of windows all we have to do is create an OS CD and change the boot priority in BIOS and on running, it directs to the screen where is asks us wheher we want to repair or install a new copy. But when I'm doin this, it is directing me to GUI of Windows7 Installation without asking for the 'Install a new copy'  option, i.e. this way I will have 2 OS. I currently have Windows XP installed and want to remove it and install Windows 7. What should I do. I need to this urgently.

Hi,

Please follow this suggestion. You can remove Windows.old folder later.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've done this before. But what I was planning was formatting the whole system all over again. Isn't there a way using which I can get what I've stated above? Otherwise I will follow this method only. Is the presence of HP startup softwae hindering this?
