Intergrated Microphone & Webcam not working [updated] [ Edited ]

Hi there,

okay.... so i purchase a brand new HP Pavilion dv6-6023TX laptop, everything was going fine beside this. But that was fix with windows update... Anyways, recently on skype i notice that the onboard microphone doesn't work - well it doesn't pick up any sound and such... calling skype (Echo/Sound Test Service) pop up a message that ask me to "check my microphone is plugged in", well it should be plug in shouldn't it? . i check skype sound setting, and it was set to the default "intergrated Microphone Array (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC)". windows recording sound option also have it set for default device (there is also an option to set is as the default communications device")

could someone please help, i would greatly appreciate it.

oh by the way, the intergrated webcam also sometime stuff up ( won't turn on/turn on for a second (the LED light flashed)) and skype constantly tell me to "try closing other applications that might be using your webcam" - but the only program i know that will be using the webcam is skype as i enabled it.
