Is Abode Illustrator 7 compatible with Windows 7?

Hello, I am sure this sounds kind of silly but I have been using the old Abode illustrator for years and it does everything I need to do. I really do not want to purchase the newest version of this software because of the cost. I tried installing it on my new notebook computer and it gave me an error message. Is there something I can download to make the software work or does Windows 7 allow you to operate programs in compatiblity mode like Vista did? Please any advise would be appreciated, Thanks!!!

Contact Adobe and see if there is some sort of patch. Google your error message ???  What is the error message ???

Sometimes a repair shop or a retail store can be very helpful at times if they think that you're going to buy a computer.

 

I Googled "adobe illustrator in windows 7" and came up with this. It's safe to assume that somewhere on this planet that someone is having the same problem. Sifting through all the hay stacks is the hard part.

Here is a link to Adobe that you may find useful. You have a very specific problem and it may take a lot of work on your part to find a solution. When I upgraded to Windows 7 on my laptop I had all sorts of problems and many days (weeks) later with some help from this forum I was able to find the solutions. Some I just figured out for myself while others were right in my face. Good luck with this.

 Adobe Illustrator 7 is not on the Windows 7 compatibility list.

Windows 7 (not all versions) gives you the ability to run programs in compatibility mode. Try running the program in compatibility mode for the OS that it worked in previously.
