Laptop Pavilion dv4 - Beep Sound but boots & works fine

My computer boots and works fine, but every now and then i get beep sound. Checked thoroughly for viruses and I didn't find any. Even Norton couldn't find any kind of issue.

Is there a hardware issue ?

When exactly you hear the beep sound? Is it while working with any particular application or is it random?

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

Are you on AC power or Battery when this happens?

    There doesn't seem to be any particular application, while using which it beeps. It just seems random.

    But now that u mention it, I shall keep a watch on this aspect too.

    I surely seem to get this beeping sound when I am using Firefox v3.

    I am on AC Power. I also ran the Battery Check routine that comes with HP laptops during the booting process. No issues.

    That said i do need to run the lengthy Memory Check which takes couple of hours.

    How many beeps sounds ?

    Do u have connect some USB or another device to the laptop ?

    Do u make any change (software or hardware) in the laptop before the prob begins ?
