Laptop user account question . Help

My question, bought a new hp laptop (g60-235dx)for my gf and me ,Made two different accounts me as the Administrator  and her the standard user, reason for that was,  for each one to have a custom desktop when we log in, my question is why is it that when she downloads pics to her picture folder they also appear on my folder ? i mess around with some network share setting and nothing , im thinking does settings are for online use , but cant figure out why her stuff/ pictures also go into my picture folder ?

If you add pics to YOUR picture folder do they add on your gf's account?

the only thing I can figure is that she would be adding them to the PUBLIC PICTURES folder and so EVERYONE on the computer can access/view them files, the same for music and videos ... its mainly for networking purposes but work locally aswell

if thats not the case, Create a new user account and test it, if it works, copy all the stuff from the GF account to the NEW account...

Yes when i load pics to my folder they also show up in hers also ...... She made a new picture folder on the desktop because when she would rigth click on the pic and was trying to send it to her picture folder, it wasnt showing that as a option so she created a folder and now drags to the pic to the folder .

I have only one user since i bought hp hdx. How can i create another user to shaer my laptop wiyh other people.
