Laptop when powering off keeps wanting to do the same updates

I have a HP Laptop Model G60458DX that is a couple of years old that I got from BestBuy with an Intel Pentium processor with Windows 7 installed. This is my first posting. When shutting down my Laptop it keeps wanting to do the same updates over and over each time I power down. What do I need to do to correct this issue? Kevin
