Latest HP Support Assistant Install Fails and Corrupts Install

I currently have installed HP Support Assistant Version 5.2.9.2 Configuration File Version 2.1.

I've run through my usual check for updates and it comes up with an update for the HP Support Assistant. Now I ran through the process of applying the update. It downloaded completely and then went into the process of applying the update. At this point it failed. Then even though HP Support Assistant didn't install correctly a cmd prompt appears saying 0 files copied. Then I also noticed that an Uninstaller was running for HP Support Assistant, and then an Installer. I thought normal procedure reboot the computer and try to open it, at which point the HP splash screen appears then goes away. HP Support Assistant doesn't load up and appears to be Corrupted every time this update is attempted to be installed.

Use Windows system restore, pick a date before the HPSA update was installed.

Clearly I haven't made my problem clear enough. The basic gist of it is that theres a new update for HP Support Assistant which renders it helpless and always fails. I can recover HP Support Assistant by downloading from the appropiate part of the HP website

I have seen many posts about the recent HPSA update causing problems, until someone figures out what is wrong, don't apply the update.

have you installed any other Security software lately?

So have I, and well the update has now appeared to have been withdrawn by HP. And I have Kaspersky Internet Security installed.

Looks like it was a problem on HP's end...
