My fingerprint reader stopped working

Product Name and Number: HP Pavilion dv6

 

OS: Windows 7

 

Error: I try to access easy pass and "Sensor not connected. Please connect sensor and try again."

 

What do I do to fix this?

Please perform the following steps.

 

1. Unistall the pre-installed version of the HP SimplePass Identity Protection 2011 Software.

 

2. Download from HP Support the latest available version of the HP SimplePass Identity Protection 2011 Software.

 

3. Install the software and reboot te notebook.

If above solution will not work then please write your notebook product number (p/n), which system are you using and country of purchase.
