I have tried everything that I can think of.
System Recovery and Restore
System clean up
nothing will get me past blue start screen

Sorry your computer has crashed. Thanks to Microsoft updates. Well I see you tried safe mode and failed to open. I hope you have your recovery disk. Because this is the time to use them. Just insert the disk and turn on coomputer. If your memory or hard drive was not damaged it should start up full recovery process. Follow on screen commands. If you do not have your recovery disk, then you can order them through HP computer parts section. Hopefully this step is all you need. Because if this last resort fails then your computer needs to be taken in for repairs. Might be just memory chips replacing or the hard drive maybe both.
Ounce you do get it up and running again. Change the updater settings to automatically update but let me choose witch ones to install. You will now manually check for updater and see if updates are downloaded. Only check off a couple at a time. For some reason when a buch of them get installed at ounce this happens. I was lucky when it happpened to me. I was able to get my computer into safe mode and do a back restore. Since I changed my settings this hasn't happened.
Oh if you do need to send it in for repairs then ask for an estimate might be cheeper to buy a new one then trying to repair this one. Also check your warranty maybe still covered. All HP computers come with one year warranty. Good Luck

Thanks for the info, my computer is 14 months old unfortunately,2 months out of warranty, I did try to do the recover disk but my disk drive wont even open until start up, my next step i guess is to get an estimate for repair. wish me luck. and thanks again
