New Installation Failure For HP Deskjet 6940 Printer On Windows 7 64 Bit

I just attempted to install my new HP Deskjet 6940 printer. My OS is Windows 7, 64 bit. The printer will not print even though it says it is ready from my WordPerfect X5 program. Drivers were automatically installed for Windows 7, but the software CD did not appear to work whatsoever. After pressing the "Start" button and viewing All Programs, no listing for my HP 6940 appears. HELP!
