Re: Now heres is one for the experts!

Try  this Chipset, install and on reboot select/choose ONLY drivers_no Media Shield:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_730a_710a_winxp_18.11.html

After installing Chipset you may have to manually update  Ethernet from Device Manager..such as"

Device Manager>Network adapter

Right click, Update Driver

Say "no, not at this time" for connecting to Windows Update

Select> Install from a list or specific location

Select> Don't search I will choose the driver to install

In the list of common hardware types, choose "show all"

Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk"

Next...browse to C:\Nvidia\.....

Nvidia 8200M Graphics:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winxp_179.48_beta.html

If install fails, download the modded 'inf' and copy into extracted files in C:\Nvidia\... overwriting original 'inf'.Next run setup from that folder and it should install.

Btw,not sure why the Conexant Audio didn't work for you.Do you have SP1,SP2, or SP3?
