Operating System not found

I'm not sure what caused this but one night I pick up my laptop (Pavilion dv6000) to do something on it and it freezes causing me to have to hard reboot it. I do so and the hard drive starts making this buzzing sound. After 3 attempts at rebooting itself it tells me that the operating system can't be found. I have no idea what happend. I haven't touched anything internally although I did have to send it back once before when the graphics started going out. HELP!!!

You might want to read the important Limited Warranty Service Enhancement information on this webpage to see if it applies to your laptop.

Re: Operating System not found

Operating System not found normally indicates either your HDD is defective or the boot sector inside the HDD is corrupted.

In order to confirm the above theory, can you try to boot from a CD or USB Floopy Drive to isolate either it is a REAL HDD problem or hardware problem with your notebook?
