I have a dv8 t 1000 cto where I believe the Bluetooth radio is defective. If I look up the part number in the dv8 manual it shows 577000-001 as being the module and
537921-001 as being the cable
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01910942.pdf
When I enter these part numbers in the HP web sites "search by part number" box, I get the total opposite.
http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/Default.aspx?msc
There is even a small picture of the Bluetooth module shown using the number, 537921-001 which totally contradicts when the manual says.

PN=537921-001
I know the manual has been wrong before, when I removed the hot key bezel around the key board. It tells you to lift it away starting nearest the touch pad. This is very wrong. You have to start at the back and work your way around the front.
If someone here could clear this up.
Thank You

Type the PN (product number) of your CTO notebook into the partsurfer search field and it will list all available parts for that model. Don't worry about the "replace with" numbers printed anywhere.

Just to add here that I did not need a new Bluetooth radio after all. When I installed a W7 OEM version in my dv8, I discovered that I had to install the HP wireless assistant. That program installed some BT drivers that turned on the radio. After the drivers were installed I could uninstall the assistant again.
The strange thing about all of this is that after installing the OEM of W7 the BT was working and then upon boot up a number of days later the radio simply did not come on. It took the installation of the HP Wireless Assistant to get it started again.
I even brought it to my favorite repair store and he tried to turn it on in the BIOS, but it simply was not listed there to turn it on.

Hi , I have HP Pavillion a255c. I just got myself an ipod touch, but I wasn't able to install itunes because it says that I do not have sufficient privileges to complete the installation for all users of the machines. Log on as an administrator and retry this installation. Please help what should I do. I called Hp support because my computer is 5 years old I would have to buy $300 worth of software to solve this problem of I could simply go to on line chat support.
Thanks
