Can you provide some more details?
Like what you have tried and which laptop you have?

It is Pavilion notebook model DV 6308nr and it was repaired by HP last Fall because of it running too hot and it was completely redone then so I don't really know if this problem just started or is ongoing since the hard drive was scrubbed.
I do a copy/paste to any program and instead of it just adding it once, it continues to paste the same item time after time and never clearing out for new copying. Very frustrating. I see there is no "clipboard" in Vista now and did try to just paste a blank space into documents which worked but really would like to cure this problem for good.

Generally a c/p will stay in resident in that particular click until you create a new function . That is the basic function of c/p the ability to repeat as many times as needed,I believe that has been fairly constant for Win2k, xp and vista.
You might want to search for information on the The Microsoft office clipboard if you would like more features.
