Right. Hello guys!
I did a downgrade and while the XP install went okay. I cant seem to get the right drivers needed.
Looking at the HP computer, it says "HP Pavilion dv9000" on the top right hand side of the screen. However, on the under side of the laptop itself there is the following information:
"Product: HP pavilion dv9500
Serial number XXXX XXX x
P/n GZ 959EA#ABU
Service tag: dv9605ea"
I have tried all the drivers for each of these series, but they all appear to be the wrong one.
In the device manager, all the deivces in "Other devices" are not working - I know this is due to lack of driver. [Audio devide High definition Audio bus, co processor, ethernet controller, modem device on high definition audio bus, sm bus controller and video controller]
Now my question is this - Where do I get the right drivers I am after please? Also which model number is my pc exactly?
By the way, mine comes with a Amd 64 athlon X2 and Nvidia graphics [Driver for the Nvidia graphics needed too please]
I would appreciate all your help please. Didnt know that downgrading will be this much pain.
Thanks.

How to install QuickPlay in Win XP:
First:
You need to make a registry hack to install it:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\QPFlag]
"QPFlag"=dword:00000003
"@"=""
If you dont know how to do it, just download,QuickPlay.zip, extract it with WinRar or WinZip, double click on it to run it.
Second:
QPW (QuickPlay) version 2.3 for XP here
Update to the final version of QPW for XP here
Skin update here
You may also want try modded Nvidia ver 185.85 drivers.
How to install them in XP:
Basically it's a 3-step process:
1. Download driver here, double click and select extract,
2. Download modded INF here and replace original INF in extracted folder,
3. Install & reboot.
First uninstall old graphic drivers if You have and only after that install this drivers.

Thank you so much Daniel_Potyrala!
I am loading the drivers the manner in which you posted them, and prompting the reboot when necessary. Having said that, I down loaded the Nvidia Graphics 7150 and on trying to install it, this came up "The Nvidia set up program could not locate any drivers compatible with your current hardware. Set up will now exit."
Am I doing something wrong here please?
EDIT
Hey thanks so much guys. I am 90% done. I have managed to have most of it working apart from the "Video controller (VGA compatible)" I am guessing this have something to with Nvidia?? I will try the modded the drivers you posted.
More Edit.
I have tried the modded 185.85 drivers, however I am getting the same message of not having a compatible driver.
As it stands at the moment, everyother thing works apart from the big yellow question mark in device manage under Video controller.
Any help to sort this out would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's very strange then they don't work for You.
Try this one. It's for HP/Compaq laptops so this should work for 100% I think. ![]()

Thanks man. You are like a big relief! The last driver you posted worked.
One one more tiny issue though lol, and hopefully the last. I cant connect wirelessly. The encryption entered are correct, but I end up with "limited or no connectiviy" after a while. I used the broadcom drivers you provded. Is there any thing I can do to rectify this?

Try the following:
Setting Windows Zero Configuration (WZC).
Most Wireless Clients Cards (Laptop/computer) can be configured by a Manufacturer Wireless Utility that comes with the card, or Windows Zero Configuration (WZC)
It is important that the Wireless should be managed only with one application.
You can use the Original Utility, or WZC. When one is used the other has to be Off (Not loaded into memory and not maintained active Windows service).
Disabling the Manufacturer Wireless Utility should be explained in the Wireless Cards document.
The following describes how to Check, and switch WZC On. The same principle applies in case you need to switch it Off, choose the Off/Stop options while you are at the menus (the same method can be used to configure other services too).
1. Click Start and Run
2. Type into the Run box "services.msc" (without the quotation).
3. Scroll down and look for the service Wireless Zero Configuration
Double Click on the Service
4. Make sure that it is Started and that the startup type is set to automatic.
If the Service did not Started, or and is Not set to Automatic.
To Start the Service click on the Start button.
To set the service to automatic, click on the down arrow and change it to Automatic.
