Pls tell me why

My a6330f desktop CD/DVD writer has stop writing and I don't have a system restore any longer that goes back far enough to restore the drivers and I need help either restoring or finding new drivers. I must say I have converted my computer to XP and I know my last resort is to go back to Vista which I may not ready to do as of yet. If someone has figured this out and does not mind sharing the resolution pls do so and thanks a million.
