Problem in Instlling XP in HP dv4 1318tu series

Am using HP DV4 1318tu series Notebook. Am a M.E student. I need Java, Tomcat server, MYSQL to run in my laptop for my Project. But Vista is not suporting Tomcat and MYSQL. I need to Install XP in my system.

But many of them saying XP cant be install in my system. Then its useless. A HP product is worthless means wats the use of the brand. No drivers for XP for my Laptop in HP sites. I bought my Laptop last month only. Please give me a sollution for dis. Am useless with my New Laptop I cant make further steps for my Project. As soon as possible get me a sollution. Or Release Drivers for XP for my Laptop...

Hi,

Downgrading this model is not always easy and Your model is designed for good work under Vista. Please check first this link written by Joshua Wood and concentrate in it on problems that may appear when You will be installing sound card.

Before downgrade make Vista backup. Here You've got all informations how to do it.

Now You need to slipstream Your Sata drivers (only ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller) with nLite.

Here is guide how to do it and here are Sata drivers  for You. Just unrar this drivers with winrar.

Be sure also that You are using at least WinXP SP2 version. If you haven't got SP2 version here you can download this service pack and here You've got guide how to slipstream this file with XP written by nLite.

In nLite You can even burn Your new XP CD with those changes.

All drivers You will find in Cheryl's guide General XP Downgrade Guide for HP Laptops_Part 3.

   Thanks for your kind reply. I cant get the SATA driver with the key sir. Can u provide me where can i get the Drivers of my HP dv4 1318tu for XP sp2. And also about SATA drivers. And finalize me According to your reply can i able to load XP na. Its p[ossible or not.

thanks for your reply and i had successfully installed Xp in my laptop sir, but now am facing a problem while installing sound driver, i had used KB888111 patch file and using IDT sound driver for my hardware sir, its working, but after restart it was uninstalled, each and every startup we want to install that patch file and wants to update my sound driver sir, i don't know how to fix the problem, please tell any solution to fix that problem, or give any updated patch file to fix this problem.

Hi Poorani!

I think you have almost succeeded in installing XP in HP DV4 1318tu. I am still struggling to set it up right. Have you identified all drivers for this model?  If so please share the links from where I can download the drivers for Audio, Modem, Bluetooth, Touch pad (scrolling is not working), finger reader and others. Please also share your tips & tricks to make XP run smoothly on HP DV4 1318tu model.
