Re: Product Code

Here is the link to Microsoft's Help page on the subject of restoring lost product keys:

How to replace a lost or damaged Microsoft Office product key

Hopefully this will help!

Re: Product Code

The wizard says I do not have to do anything as the program way preloaded when I purchased the laptop - I still have to answer the question "what is your product code number" every time I use this product requiring three clicks of the computer

Re: Product Code

The Wizard seems to want you to register the product code, that is, the Office Product, with Microsoft.

As long as you have the code, you enter the code, and you have registered... and you get back some sort of notice that the code has been accepted, then that should do it.  Rats.  The program may be messed up from the inside.

You can try and Repair the program.

Control Panel > Programs and Features > Scroll down and find Microsoft Office 2010 >

Right-Click > CHANGE >

When the Microsoft Office Window comes up, click on Repair

If you do not see the word "CHANGE" or Repair when you click on Microsoft Office, then you should NOT uninstall the program UNLESS you have the means to reinstall it from CD or download.

======================================================================================

What if you do REPAIR the program and it fails to bring joy?

Having said that, If you have done all that - repaired your program, registered your product, entered your code, and you are NOT getting back the result you need, then I would think you still need to call Microsoft to get this straightened out.   :smileysad:

Might be that someone else has a better plan...
