Hi
I have just upgraded to windows 7 on my Pav dv6355ea. The only thing not working are the Quick Play buttons. Is there drivers for windows 7, as I have been looking on the HP site for the last hour going round in circles.
Cheers
Binkx

When I run sp39425 I get the following errors:
String CD_ INST_ERROR_LOADING_DLL was not found in string table - I click OK and I get
CD_ INST_ERROR_LOADING_DLL - I click OK and I get
Loading HPQNT.DLL failed. The softpaq files may be corrupted. Dowload the latest Softpaqand try again
I tried it serveral more times and it went throught the install procedure. Then it came back with the Your version of
HP Quick Launch Buttons isn't compatible with this version of Windows.
What do I do now? Any ideas?
Cheers

sounds like you used a retail copy to do an upgrade. anyway what you can do is try to go to www.hp.com and in the search bar type in your p/n (this p/n can be found on the bottom of your computer on the white sticker. ) use that number and type it in the search page and then press enter. When you get the search results page you will need to click on software and driver - link on the webpage. then it will take you to another site thats asking for your os. depends on what upgrade you did as in 32 or 64. Pick which ever version of the operating system you have( this information can be determineded by going to start menu- right clicking on computer- left clicking on properties) then you should be able to download your quick launch. I suggest that you download the update save it to your desktop and then right click on the update file and left click on run as admin. now if that doesn't work try running the update in compatability mode. Which windows 7 has a step by step process on how to do that. good luck

The quick launch buttons support just showed up for my laptop today, so you might check the download page for your machine. If your machine is officially supported with Windows 7, they may be out shortly. As you have already learned, don't just download things from FTP links or try to run Vista drivers. Vista drivers work for some but not all hardware, and stuff on the FTP site that have not yet been posted for your machine have often not been posted for good reasons.

The issue is not the quick play button it is with the media smart menu app the old media smart menu app will work under win 7
not 2.1 just the update 2.10a the issue is that hp's new laptops don't have the media smart button on the touch panel only vol and wireless button so the new media smart menu 3.0 !!!!!does not support the media smart button on the touch panel so if you want the button to work update from 2.1 to 2.10a note 2.1 will not work in win 7 only (2.10a button works) and 3.0<button doesnot work) now here the solution heres a link to all the new media smart softwere the will work under win 7 dvd, sing player ect...
here the link to the whole meda smart update dvd sing photo music ect...this is designed for win 7
P.S.3.0 has a better looking menu
