Recovery discs corrupt my hard drive (666 Views)
07-29-2009 01:15 AM
Okay so I bought a new computer in March 2009, nothing to fancy just something that I could check my mail and use it for work. I made a set of recovery discs using the Recovery Disc Creation tool, just in case my laptop was to fail. One day it did, so I inserted the disc and tried to recover my computer. I got to the end and I got a message ERROR 1002 : please contact HP support. I rebooted and was given BOOTMGR IS MISSING PRESS CRTL + ALT + DEL TO RESTART. I contacted HP support and they sent me out a set of recovery discs, free of charge. I received them 6 days later but they were in Portroguese. I contacted HP again asking for another set, this time English, and they said that they would send me them out. This was three weeks ago. I have received no confirmation email and I have been emailing them for the last week or so. My computer still does not work but I want this sorting out.
