Reinstalling the Fingerprint Scanner on a HDX9300

I while ago I uninstalled Digital Persona so I could use WMC with my 360. Since then WMC has fallen out of favour so I tried to reinstall the Fingerprint Scanner. I installed sp37920 and then sp40216 but Digital Persona does not find the scanner. Where is it located in the device manager and under what name?

Your Fingerprint scanner is located in the device manager under Personal Identification Devices.

First.. remove your logon password.

Uninstall DigitalPersona from the system... and restart.

Open up your Recovery Manager and re-install the drivers for the scanner... restart.

Re-install the DigitalPersonal software from the Recovery Manager.. restart.

Now.. create your password for your logon.

Try the DigitalPersona software again.

Didn't work. The scanner doesn't show up in the Device Manager and Digital Persona does not detect it either.

Only two things to troubleshoot in any system my friend.. and you have eliminated one of them.

Call up HP support... back up all your stuff, if your NB is under warranty the reader will have to be replaced.

What are you looking for when searching in Device Manager? I own a dv4 with DigitalPersona installed as the software for the scanner as well and is currently suffering the same problem. however, to find it in Device Manager, you should be looking for Validity Sensor under Personal identification Device tab. is it available there?

Thanks for the info Ken80ny but in Device Manager there is no Personal identification Device tab.
