Resetting to factory default???

I have an HP Pavilion dv6 with windows 7 64bit. I just want to clean my hard drive up completely. Basically i want to start from scratch without buying a new Operating System Disc.... The issue is my computer didnt come with a backup disc of the operating system. So i can't just you know reformat and re-install. I have already backed up what i need to back up and i am fully ready to reset the computer to factory defaults. My issue is my recovery partition is messed up and has not done anything at all, i cant create a recovery disc, i cant afford a new OS Disc, Some programs i delete are still showning up in my programs control panel page even if i uninstalled them from there. Im basically completely lost here. If there is any way i can reset this computer to a point were its like it was just bought im willing to try. If i have to buy a recovery disc from the website i think i can fit it in. Just leave as much information as you can on how i can completely reset my computer to factory defaults.

Re: Resetting to factory default???

Good Day,

with regards to your concern of resetting your NB to it's factory default, there are only two options to solved that, first, using the recovery partition on your computer, if it is not available or if it is being corrupted the second option will be using the Recovery Disc You've created or from HP. We do not suggest the complete reformatting the Hard Drive coz you still need the OS installation Disc/Recovery Disc. If you don't feel of calling HP to have recovery disc, you can purchased it online, but rest assured, call Hp support for that so that they can give the exact Recovery Disc for your system.

Thank you. and Good day.
