Need some advice, pls. ![]()
My HP Pavillion laptop is completely hosed,so I'd like to return to factory settings (I've set up an online drive for reloading things later).
It's told me I don't have a restore point - I don't care... I want to restore to factory settings. It will only let me set a restore point for now, but it's broken NOW. ![]()
Any ideas? I suppose I can take it in to Best Buy and get a new hard drive, but this laptop is only 8 months old.
Is there a customer service number I can call for advice?

Oh, there's the reply link. ![]()
I can't find any disks. I just want to take the whole thing back to factory settings, which should exist on the hard drive. Am I wrong?
I can probably BUY Vista and reinstall if I need to.
F11 does nothing. I did get to the Backup Status and Config page, and in Backup and Restore Center, I hit the System Restore link, and it says it's "already running". (after about five minutes, which is about how long it takes for anything I click on to come up onscreen.) I've tried this loads of times with the same result.
