Simplepass and Hotmail

I had simplepass setup to launch Hotmail.  It asked to remember the password and I said yes.  However, Hotmail just recently made me change my password.  Simplepass keeps using the old password.  How do I make it learn the new one.  Does that make sense.  It doesn't reset itself even if you delete the hotmail icon and create a new one.  Thanks.

It makes perfect sense!

Open SimplePass and change the password to your Hotmail from within the SimplePass software.

Indicate your exact computer model and Operating System (windows 7 32 or 64 bit, Vista, etc), if you need more help.  NO Serial numbers - that's private information!

It's a HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Quad.  I did change the password from within simplepass but it only brings up the hotmail sign in page.  Simplepass no longer pops up to sign into the account.

Hi Solat,

I wonder if SimplePass has lost track of the Hotmail account altogether.  It sounds like it was trying to sign you in with the wrong password and now it just doesn't try at all.

• I think you will have to remove the Hotmail account from SimplePass (if you have not already done so). 
• Reboot the system.  
• Try logging into Hotmail and
• see if SimplePass picks up on the login and
• asks if you want it to remember the account-login password.

If SimplePass does not pick up the Hotmail account at that point,

• then Cntrl-C copy the URL address to the Hotmail account
• Open SimplePass
• Add Hotmail Webcard to your private list, give it a name, add the URL
• Close it and try the address.

See it if asks for the Password.

If yes, great!

If not,

• Open SimplePass,
• Open the Hotmail Webcard,
• Add the password manually.

Try again.

I give up.  It works as long as I have keep me signed in checked.

Rats.  I've not seen Hotmail be so stubborn.  Let me know if you want to tackle it later.  It really should be able to be fixed.  SimplePass is a fussy software but it will cooperate if kicked hard enough.  Smiling.

Try this:

Open SimplePass, Scroll over and open the Hot Mail Webcard (Right-Click on it).

Make sure the box "Enable Website Log On"  is CHECKED

Hopefully, that will do it.
